Loss of Elasticity

Everything begins at the cellular level. Cells form, wear down, age, and eventually die. Skin cells, naturally, are part of this cycle. In the process known as aging, the skin's primary cells-collagen and elastin-also go through this cycle. There are factors that can accelerate this process, such as the depletion of essential elements in the skin, accumulation of oxidants, and dietary imbalances, among others.

To address loss of elasticity, various methods can be applied. However, for sustained skin health and a youthful appearance that aligns with one’s chronological age, it is essential to first address factors that accelerate cell death and hinder regeneration.

Nutrition should be balanced. Oxidative substances accumulated in the skin should be removed. Essential elements lost over time must be replenished.

These elements are generally included in elasticity loss treatment protocols. However, it’s crucial to keep these primary factors in mind continuously to maintain skin health and beauty and to ensure a higher quality aging process for overall well-being.

What can be done for loss of elasticity?

  1. Skin Care and Product Use
To clear cellular waste, nourish the skin, and supplement diminishing elements, it’s necessary to use appropriate skincare products and undergo medical skincare treatments periodically, tailored to the skin’s condition.
  1. Microneedling Fractional Radiofrequency (Gold Needle)
In all skin rejuvenation systems, the mechanism is based on creating minor damage to activate the body’s natural healing response. The gold needle system, equipped with 25 or 64 gold needles, enables a highly effective healing response. After touching the skin, these needles deliver radiofrequency energy according to skin thickness and specific concerns. Approximately 15,000 micro-injuries stimulate fibroblast activation, initiating cell renewal and helping reduce elasticity loss through new cell formation.
  1. CO2 Fractional Laser
This method relies on creating micro-columns of desired depth and intensity with laser energy. By controlled elimination of damaged cells and triggering skin’s renewal mechanisms, this treatment promotes elasticity enhancement through the formation of new cells.
  1. Plasma Therapy
Plasma treatment mimics the body’s healing process by utilizing platelets from the blood, first increased and isolated using special kits, then applied to the skin. Controlled micro-injuries created with dermaroller or dermapen prepare the skin for this plasma application, which can help restore elasticity.
  1. Dermal Injection
Dermal injections introduce skin-regenerating ingredients, such as amino acids, proteins, and vitamins, via microinjections to assist with cell renewal. The essential materials, such as hyaluronic acid, gradually deplete in the skin, making it difficult to activate cell regeneration without them. Dermal injections, also known as mesolift, provide an essential pathway for skin rejuvenation treatments, promoting firmness, moisture balance, and collagen production.
  1. Carbon Peeling
Carbon peeling involves the combined use of lasers and a carbon mask for skin rejuvenation. The sudden heat generated removes the skin’s outer layer with the carbon mask, utilizing the photoactivation effect to stimulate cell renewal and promote collagen production, thereby reducing elasticity loss.
  1. Focus Ultrasound (Ultherapy)
Ultherapy, a non-surgical skin-tightening method, targets sagging due to age and gravity. Using focused ultrasound waves, this treatment creates thermal damage at various skin depths (1.5-3-4.5 mm), strengthening the supportive tissue beneath.
  1. Thread Lifting
Thread lifting is used to enhance elasticity and address sagging issues. The choice and application of elasticity treatments depend on a detailed assessment of the skin type and severity of laxity by an experienced physician.
