What problems occur in the eye area?

EYE AREA DEFORMITIES

1. Thin eyebrows and eyelashes

This problem can be solved by permanent make-up to be applied by an experienced person using high quality devices and materials. Even in the absence of any eyebrows, it is important not to go outside the eyebrow area and to use the hair technique when applying the permanent eyebrow make-up.

2. Drooping eyelid and under eye

Many methods are used depending on the amount of deformation in the skin.

  • Toxin Application

If drooping eyelid is not severe and the eyelid improves as the eyebrow is raised, the condition can be treated using Toxin Application. It cannot be used for the wrinkles under the eye. It smoothens the crow feet and prevents them from getting deeper.

  • Plasma Energy
Plasma energy allows for renewal of the tissues through controlled evaporation on the epidermis layer of the skin. The elasticity of the tissue increases as it is renewed. It allows for smoothening the wrinkles on the eyelid, under the eye and crow feet. Seances applied once a month are repeated if needed. Maximum 3 seances are performed.
  • Fractional Laser
The skin around the eyes is very thin. Regular Fractional laser systems cannot be used around the eyes. The application is performed using modes that create smaller and slighter damages. It allows for improved quality by renewing the skin suffering from wrinkles or loss of elasticity in approximately 500 or 1000 spots per eyelid. Seances are applied once a month, and maximum 3 seances are performed.
  • Mesotherapy
It involves intradermal injection of a mixture composed of amino acids, proteins and vitamins in order to improve deformation, replenish missing elements in the skin, and complete the cell activation. Depending on the need, a couple of seances are applied at 15-day intervals.
  • Filler
It can be used for deep crow feet or fine lines in people who do not prefer Toxin Application. Fillers can be applied especially in case of deep tear troughs that result in a tired expression. The filler material applied in the eye area must be a product with a lower molecular size.
In case of eye area deformities, after a thorough examination, some of these methods or a combination of them are applied depending on what the skin needs.

3. Sebaceous Glands in Eye Area

The most common eye area problems associated with sebaceous glands are as follows:

  • What is syringoma and its reason?
Syringoma is a benign growth resulting from sweat glands. It is a pretty common condition. It generally starts in adolescence with female predisposition. The reason of syringoma is unknown. It is mostly seen in the eye area of women. It can also be seen in the chest, abdominal, armpit and genital areas.
What are the symptoms of syringoma?
These are skin colored to yellowish dermal benign bumps with clear boundaries. They are mostly scattered in the periorbital area and un the lower eyelids. They are found in clusters and are symmetrical.
What are the treatment methods for syringoma?
Syringoma can be removed using erbium, carbon dioxide (CO2) laser or electrical surgery. In general, it can require 1-3 seances. Good results are obtained in people with fairer skin. The treatment can leave behind white marks in the application area in people with dark circles around their eyes. It should be kept in mind that syrinfomas may recur after treatment.
  • What is xanthelasma?
Xanthelasmas are yellow lipid patches occurring mostly on the inner corners of the upper eyelids. They occur more often on the upper eyelid than the lower eyelid. Undereye lipid patches are permanent and progressive. They do not disappear themselves.
    Who has xanthelasma and why?
They are more common among women then men. They occur most frequently between the ages of 40-50. Half of those with xanthelasmas have abnormal blood lipid levels. Patients have genetically high cholesterol or triglyceride levels. Blood lipid disorders caused by diabetes and thyroid diseases can cause xanthelasmas. Blood lipid levels in the other half of the patients were found normal. Good cholesterol level of people with xanthelasmas may be low. In addition, it is a sign of tendency to arteriosclerosis. People with xanthelasmas should have their blood lipid levels checked. Furthermore, they should avoid foods that may increase their blood lipid levels. Treatment of xanthelasmas is done for cosmetic reasons. What are the treatment methods of xanthelasma?
Treatment methods for these lipid patches include laser, surgical removal, electrical surgery or chemical peeling. In case of laser treatment, erbium, CO2 and plasma energy systems are used. Xanthelasmas may recur after treatments. Due to skin renewal after the laser treatment of the skin, the xanthelasmas are less likely to recur with the laser treatment.
  • What is a milium?
A milium is a pretty common lipid patch seen in the eye area. It can occur in children and people of all ages. Milia are superficial, bright white-yellowish, 1-2 mm bumps. They often appear around the eyes and on the cheeks. Their reason is unknown. The treatment is done for cosmetic reasons.
What are the treatment options for milia?
Vitamin A creams can be effective. The milia can be cleaned by opening them using scalpel or sterile needles. In very invasive cases, the condition can be treated using laser, electrosurgery and laser treatment.

4. Under Eye Dark Circles

  • What are under eye dark circles?
Under eye dark circles are the darker appearance of the skin under the eye than normal.
  • How to get rid of under eye dark circles, what are the treatments?

Anemia, fatigue, staying in front of a computer screen for prolonged durations may be the cause of dark circles.
  • What precautions can I take against undereye dark circles?
A good sleep pattern, a balanced diet, protection from the sun, using sunglasses for the summer and winter, avoiding prolonged exposure to television and computer, resting the eyes, applying cold presses, applying or putting cucumber slices in the undereye area, using high pillows, using yellow-base concealers, and using undereye creams containing Vitamin K, Vitamin C, retinol, arnica, antioxidants, peptides, growth factor and pigment reducing creams are among the precautions that can be taken.
  • What are the treatments for undereye dark circles?
Dark circle removal creams, Laser treatments, Chemical peeling, Light filler, PRP, mesotherapy and microneedling are among the skin renewal methods that can be applied.
